A fragment of Roman ceramic New Forest ware indented beaker consisting of the base and part of the walls and dating to the period AD 240-400. The fragment measures 42.86mm in length and 56.22mm in approximate diameter. The remaining walls measure 4.96mm thick, and remain attached to the base. As the walls join the base, there are two incised lines, running concentrically around the vessel. The base measures 31.91mm in diameter. An incomplete copper-alloy Roman disc brooch, dating to the period AD 80-250. It is incomplete insofar as it is missing its pin, although the edge is somewhat damaged. It is broadly circular in shape, measuring 25.38mm in length and 30.02mm in width. From the catchplate, the brooch measures 6.33mm thick. At the two widest points the broadly circular shape has pointed knops. The brooch is framed by two concentric ridges, approximately 3.22mm apart. An incomplete Roman plate brooch, dating to the period AD 150-250. It is incomplete insofar as it is missing its pin. It is broadly circular in shape with considerable edge damage. The mechanism for the pin jutts out from one side, measuring 4.69mm in length and 4.89mm in width. The total length of the brooch is 22.57mm and is 20.09mm wide. Approximately at the centre of the brooch is a circular knop, its rivetted end visible to the reverse. The knop measures 2.11mm in height and 3.95mm in diameter. A fragment of a Roman greyware mortaria, dating to the period AD 43- 410. It is broadly rectangular in shape, measuring 37.27mm in length and 35.15mm in width. The fabric is greyware and sandy, and orange in colour on either side as it has been oxidised. However, this oxidisation is not fully completed as the original grey colour can still be seen at the centre of the cross-section. The fragment has small to medium inclusions of quartzite, on what would have been the interior of the mortaria only. It measures 7.55mm in thickness and weighs 14.28g.
