What could possibly be a third rivet hole, measuring approximately 7.8mm in diameter, is approximately halfway in between them. In total, this fragment measures 59.76mm in length, 21.29mm wide and 1.34mm in thickness except at the rivets, which are 8.79mm thick. The fragment weighs 10.82g and has a rough patina, being light green in colour with patches of brown.

Only one horseshoe may have a nail in situ, but otherwise the horseshoes are complete. It is unlikely that these were from the same horse, not just because there are five, but due to the different sizes and weights of each shoe. Clark's "The Medieval Horse and its Equipment" (1995) indicates that horses were not always shod on all four feet (p76), but on two instead. The beak is short, measuring 4.19mm in length and 2.81mm in width, extending to a raised brow or eyesocket, though any decoration that once may have been there has since gone. A copper-alloy Roman barbarous radiate of an uncertain ruler, dating to the period AD 275-285 (Reece Period 14). Uncertain reverse type depicting swastika, uncertain mint. A parallel to this can be seen in SUSS-7BA3B3. This reverse type doesn't exist in the official coinage of the Gallic emperor and therefore is an invention on the forger's part. In ancient times, the swastika was a symbol of good fortune. Such a design is highly unusual on barbarous radiates.

An incomplete Roman iron miniature spear, dating to the period AD 330-410. What remains is the spear and the shaft, measuring 196.22mm in length and weighs 31.51g in total. The miniature spear appears to be broadly circular in cross-section, but this is unclear as heavy corrosion obscures much of the original shape.
