A cast copper-alloy medieval spherical sword pommel, dating to the period AD 1100-1400. The pommel is spherical, with two broadly square openings, the smaller on top measuring 7.45mm width and length, and the larger at the base measuring 11.14mm in length and 9.34mm in width. The top of the handle/tang would have fitted through these openings. It is 17.74mm in height, 24.38mm wide and weighs 13.36g. A complete copper-alloy medieval sword pommel, dating to the period 1300-1400. The pommel is oval in plan and irregular in section, measuring 44.72mm in length and 51.38mm in width. The thickness of the sword pommel is 39.42mm. In cross-section the pommel appears as a squat cylinder with an enlarged mid-section which gives the pommel a bi-conical form with the tops of the cones truncated and a broad flat band, which forms the middle of the pommel, joining the two truncated conical halves.
