A fragment of a medieval silver short-cross penny, dating to c. 1180-1247. Moneyer and mint unknown. The fragment has apparently been cut as a farthing but has lost part of its edge perhaps during manufacture - a grooved line is clearly visible to the reverse before the remaining legend.
