An incomplete asymmetrical Roman plate brooch, dating to the period AD 100-250. It is incomplete insofar as the pin is missing, part of the catchplate has broken and one of the knops has partially broken off. The brooch measures 39.02mm in length and 24.74mm at maximum width. Behind the catchplate is a trefoil protrusion, a small central triangle with an oval area to either side: at the centre of each of this is a stamped ring-and-dot.
