Very worn post-medieval copper-alloy Rose/Orb Jetton of anonymous Nuremberg master. The first Jettons of this type were struck towards the end of the fifteenth century, and borrowed the 'Imperial orb within treasure' design popular on German gold coinage (Mitchiner 1988, 353). This design was popular throughout the sixteenth century (Mitchiner 1988, 377); these Jettons were struck in large numbers and the designs remained in use for the longest period.
