Debitage flake of the Mesolithic to Early Neolithic period, dating from c. 10,000 - c. 2351 BC.
The object is probably a secondary flake removed from a larger core, and then subjected to further working, it is possible it is an unfinished awl or borer. The object is a broad reverse P shaped in plan and a shallow C shape in section. Around 30% of the dorsal face is covered by the remaining cortex. Flint working debitage of the Mesolithic to Neolithic period, dating from c. 9,000BC-4000BC
The flint is broadly rectangular in plan and is triangular in section. The flint has a single striking platform, with longitudinal blade removal scars running the length of the object, most prominant on the left. The right side shows signs of the removal of smaller flakes. Each scar has conchoidal (ripple) marks radiating from the distal end.
