A Probable Medieval to Post-Medieval copper alloy mount, probably dating to c. AD 1200-1550. The mount is cruciform, with each arm terminating a fleur de lis, a thick blunt rivet projects from the reverse. The front of the plate appears to have had moulded decoration, although this is obscured by corrosion. There is a possible central rosette, with each arm having three strands. The plate has a central raised pellet, surrounded by two concentric bands of smaller, moulded pellets. Traces of gilding survive on this surface. Two vestigial pointed lugs project from the reverse. A Medieval copper alloy finger ring, dating to AD 1150-1500. The bezel rises from the shoulders to a truncated point, at which a sub-spherical blue glass pseudo-gem stone in inlaid into a sub-circular cell. The shoulders of the ring are expanded in profile, and taper towards the base of the hoop. The hoop is flat in cross section. A Medieval copper alloy annular brooch, dating to AD 1200-1350. The brooch consists of a cast annular frame, with six projecting collets spaced equidistantly around the frame. The exterior edge of the frame is moulded into a series of trapezoidal projections, alternating with the collets. Each of these has two oblique grooves on the outside edge, creating a V-shape. A Palaeolithic flint handaxe probably dating to c. 500,000-40,000BC. The handaxe is piriform in plan with a rounded trapezoidal butt, when viewed in profile the axe generally gets thicker towards the point and has a relatively straight cutting edge. It appears to have been worked bifacially, but is extremely heavily rolled. Dimensions: Approximately 90mm in length, 50mm in width and 30mm in thickness.
