A medieval lead alloy seal matrix, probably dating to AD 1200-1350. The matrix is pointed oval or vesica shaped and flat, with a central rib along the reverse with the vestigial remains of a perforated lug at on end. The face of the seal is engraved with a depiction of a lion rampant, within the inscription (in retrograde): RICARD(I GAGGAL). Length 30.5mm; width 21.2mm; thickness 5.2mm; weight 10.34g. Crude lead personal seals with simple non-heraldic designs are thought to date to the 13th and early 14th centuries (Harvey & Mcguiness 1996: 79-80).

An incomplete Post-Medieval lead cloth seal, probably disc 3 or 4 of a 4-part cloth seal, dating to c. AD 1590-1724. The disc depicts a shield with indented edges containing a double-stranded equal armed cross with the sword of St. Paul in the top left field, an illegible inscription runs around the outside edge. length 19.6mm; width 15.5mm; thickness 1.1mm; weight 1.97g. 4-part cloth seals had come into use by the end of the 16th century, with the alnage taxation system abolished in 1724 (Egan 1994, 2001).
