The remaining frame consists of one D-shaped loop and D-shaped in cross-section. The outer edge of the frame is bevelled and the back is flat. A complete cast copper-alloy annular single loop buckle dating 1230-1450. Description: The buckle is formed from a large ring shaped frame, circular in cross-section. A lead and copper-alloy composite object of uncertain date. Description: The object take the shape of a square topped shield. The bottom is rounded. It is thin and straight sided. On one side is a copper-alloy sheet entirely adherring to it. It has been cleaned and its not clear as to what was originally on it. Despite the cleaning there is some evidence based on consistant patterning that it may have been originally decorated although as what is uncertain.
