An incomplete medieval gilded copper alloy buckle plate.dating to the period c.AD1150-1450. The plate is formed from a piece of sheet copper alloy and is rectangular in shape. At one end it exhibits a series of old breaks below which are two projecting tabs which also terminate in old breaks. The plate exhibits a circular perforation which may have housed the pin or a rivet. The obverse of the plate is decorated with two incised grooves running parallel to the edges of the plate with a series of vertical incised grooves in between. A copper alloy fragment of a medieval or post medieval copper alloy vessel dating to the period c. AD 1350 - 1700. The fragment is irregularly shaped and exhibits old breaks on all edges. It exhibits two horizontal wires separated by a longitudinal casting seam. The wires on either side of the seam are out of alignment with one another. The fragment is likely to derive from a cauldron, skillet, posnet or other cooking vessel. A post medieval copper alloy vessel leg, probably from a skillet or posnet dating to the period c. AD 1500-1700. The leg is oval in cross section and commences in an old break. Below the break the leg tapers from a width of 24.72mm to 17.3mm before expanding into the foot which measures 27.5mm in width. The leg exhibits a longitudinal casting seam on either side. The underside of the foot is slightly domed so that it does not sit level. The vessel leg measures 26.26mm in length, 27.5mm maximum width, 17.3mm minimum width and weighs 72.44 grams. Cf. Butler. An incomplete Roman copper-alloy developed T-shape brooch dating to the period c. AD 50 - 150. Part of the pin and the catchplate is missing. The brooch measures 20.3mm in width across the wings, is 3.9mm thick, 37.9mm in length and weighs 5.09g. The brooch exhibits cylindrical wings which house the copper alloy axis bar on which the pin is mounted. Medieval or post medieval copper alloy double-looped buckle frame dating to the period c. AD 1350 - 1450. The pin is missing. The frame exhibits two oval loops which are D-shaped in cross-section. It exhibits a concave reverse and slightly widened outer edges. The two loops are divided by a narrowed and recessed axis bar. The frame is 23.7mm long, 17.4mm wide and 3.0mm thick, it weighs 3.05 grams. Cf. Egan, G & Pritchard, F, 1991, p. 83, nos. 332 & 333. A similar example is illustrated in Whitehead, R 2003, p 54, fig.310.

A post medieval copper alloy thimble dating to the period c. AD 1500 - 1600. The thimble has sloping sides and a slightly domed top. It has been slightly flattened out of shape and exhibits a hole in one side and a number of tears radiating from the rim. The thimble exhibits a series of circular pits which radiate in a continuous spiral from the centre of the crown down the sides, leaving a narrow border of undecorated metal around the rim of the thimble. A lead weight of probable medieval to post medieval date (c. AD 1400 - 1700). The weight is circular in plan with a rectangular cross-section. The upper face exhibits a series of irregularly spaced square and triangular indentations. The lower face exhibits a series of incised grooves, most ofwhcih appear to radiate from the centre to the edges. The weight has a thick off-white patina, with recent damage to the underside indicated by a dark grey break in the patina. The weight measures 41.12mm in diameter, is 9.19mm thick and weighs 115 (4oz).

Medieval cast copper alloy strap slide. The frame is five sided with a flat base, vertical sides and a peak in the centre of the top bar. The sides and base are rectangular in cross section and the top bar is D shaped with a flat inner side. There is a hole through the base of the frame, half way along, which would have held a separate circular rivet, now missing, the hole is filled with iron corrosion suggesting the rivet was iron. In the center of the upper bar there is a thickened and widened protrubing rouneed knob. A Late Iron Age cast copper alloy Birdlip type brooch with the pin and the top of the head missing dating from 30 BC to AD 60. there is a unpatinated and seemingly fresh break at the top where the head and pin have been lost.
