A  cast lead alloy shot/ball of medieval date, probably for use in a hand cannon or mounted gun from the 15th century (possibly linked the war of the roses,and the battle of Mortimers Cross some 2.5 miles away). The surface is abraded, probably from movement in the soil by farm machinery and as such it is unknown as to whether it has been fired or not. The clasp or buckle has an incomplete rectangular frame with an integrally cast anthropomorphic king's head design in high relief at one end. The form of the blade is uncertain having a flat spinal rib running down the centre, flanked by bevelled edges on both sides. A fragment of a copper alloy terret ring dating from the late Iron age to early Roman periods, c. 50 BC -150 AD. The fragment consists of a projecting sub oval collar from which at one end protrudes part of the narrow rectangular strap-bar and at the other end a remnant of the main circular loop.
