A fragment of a cast lead alloy pilgrim's ampulla dating to c. AD1350 - 1550. Only part of the lower bowl section remains. One face is decorated with a scallop shell design. An almost complete copper-alloy Roman trumpet brooch of date, c. AD 75 - 175. The spring and base of the pin are still present however the remainder of the pin is missing. There is a protrusion break above the head where a securing loop would have been attached. A single central knop is present on the bow with 6 incised triangles flanked by with two raised parallel ribs. An incomplete, cast copper alloy Roman Colchester derivative Polden Hill type brooch, dating to c.70 - 120AD. The spring and cord are still in place as is the axis bar and lug. Both the pin and catch plate are missing. The bow is D shape in cross section and has a flat ovoid moulding that stands out either side. The bow tapers to a worn break in antiquity below where the catch plate would have started. The brooch does not appear to have any decoration and has an olive green patina. A Roman or later copper alloy acorn-shaped object, possibly a slide weight from a steelyard or statera. The shell of the acorn is raised. The top has a flattened projection in which is an offset hole or suspension loop. Inside the hole remains a piece of copper alloy wire measuring 2.5mm in diameter. The bottom has been abraded and is now a slightly flattened both on the perimeter and base. There is a single circular countersunk mark on the perimeter. An incomplete cast, copper-alloy single looped D-shaped buckle dating from the Medieval period (c. AD 1250-1500). The frame of the buckle is D-shaped in form and oval in cross-section. The bar is narrow and off-set. No pin remains. The outer edge of the frame widens in the middle to act as the pin rest. The buckle is undecorated and has a mid-green patina. A similar buckle frame has been published by Ross Whitehead, (Whitehead 2003: p.19, nos: 53-55) additionally there is a similar example on the PAS database such as: WMID-61D507.
