A complete, copper alloy strap fitting of post-medieval date (c. AD 1550-1750).The object is composed of a rectangular strap slide, topped with a projecting plate that tapers in before flaring out to end in a broad rounded knop. Along the top of the bar is an incised transverse line. The back of the plate is concave and undecorated. It has a mottled green patina. An incomplete cast copper alloy single loop folding strap clasp, from c. 12th-15th century. The clasp would have comprised of three components, the frame, folding clasp and strap plate, which together would have held a strap in place, only two now survive, the folding clasp element is missing. The central frame is sub-rectangular in shape. The frame has slightly convex sides and recessed straight ends, one recessed end is slightly wider than the other. A medieval fragment of a copper alloy strap end, of late 14th- or early 15th-century. What remains is a slightly trapezoidal attachment 'box' for a strap end of lyre-shaped form. One face is decorated with 10 incised parallel lines in which is crudely inscribed the letters 'ihc'. The plain back panel is attached by four rivets. A complete but worn cast copper-alloy post-medieval strap fitting (belt mount) dating from c. AD 1500-1700. The copper alloy strap fitting is a simplistic acorn design. It is sub-oval in plan with one terminal having an integral knop. Bisecting the two halves is a linear groove. The reverse has two circular sectioned integral studs, both of which are incomplete. An incomplete cast copper alloy strap fitting, belt slide, of probable late Iron Age or early Roman date (50 BC - AD 200). The strap fitting is irregular in plan having been heavily eroded in the ploughsoil. It is broadly oval in plan and the front plate is D shaped in cross section. The front plate consists of a circular motif formed of a projecting boss which is encircled by a circumferential groove. An incomplete and mishapen strap slide of post-medieval date. The object would have been rectangular when complete and is D-shaped in cross-section. The object narrows in width at the centre of the outer face where it has been bent out of shape in antiquity and terminates with at break at one end. A very worn and broken Roman military horse harness strap terminal, c.43-150 AD. The fitting comprises a slightly waisted rectangular plate that is broken at the lower end. On the back would have been a pair of integral worn spikes for attachment to leather. One has worn away, the other would have been attached to the missing part. A copper alloy post medieval asymmetrical strap fitting dating to AD 1600 - 1700. The mount is slightly convex from the front and consists of a cordate (heart-shaped) plate which tapers to a fleur-de-lys shaped terminal consisting of two lobes flanking a central elongated knop. Either lobe features an off centre cast aperture. The reverse is concave, with two doubled over integral spikes projecting from the reverse. A complete cast copper alloy openwork mount or hooked tag of Early Post Medieval dating. The mount is sub circular in plan, with a integrally cast projecting hook on one side. It would have originally been one of a pair, with its partner having an integrally cast loop to receive the hook. The plate is sub-triangular in plan with a trifoliate terminal and has a rivet hole for attachment, this has orange iron staining inside and around the hole. A complete copper alloy post-medieval cast strap fitting (belt mount) of two symmetrical delta shapes, behind which is a suboval lobe, projecting downwards from the base. Two horizontal pointed rivet attachments bent in opposite directions on the reverse. The profile is flat with a chamferred along the outer side . The metal shows some corrosion with some areas having a dark green patina and others a pale green patina showing signs of bronze desease. The weight is 1.5g, the width is 8.2mm, the length is 22.3mm, the thickness including the hooks is 5.2mm and excluding the hooks is 1.9mm.
