An incomplete cast copper alloy Roman Colchester derivative (Polden Hill) brooch dating to c.AD 80-120. The object comprises the head, wings and a fragment of the upper bow; the lower bow, foot, catchplate, pin and spring are missing. The two wings are plain having indistinct pierced endcaps, at the centre of the reverse is a rectangular shaped depression filled with the remains of iron corrosion, there is also a broken hook at the mid-point of the bow that would have held the external chord of the spring. A medieval (c. 1250-1400) copper-alloy lozenge shaped horse harness pendant with enamel design in relief. This pendant has a lozenge shaped body with a length of 32.8mm, width of 29.4mm and thickness of 3.7mm. From the top corner of the pendant, set at 90 degrees to the lozenge, an incomplete suspension loop protrudes. The incomplete length of the pendant suspension shank is c.4.4mm. Weight is 13.2g.

A complete Medieval silver penny of Edward I (1272-1307), with bifoliate crown, minted at Berwick-upon-Tweed. Class 4, 1300-1310 (North 1991: 39, ref: 1079 or 1080).
The coin appears to be comlete, although it was stuck off centre. The bust shows little wear, but the obverse has wear patches at 3 o'clock and 9 o'clock. The reverse has similar wear patches.
Diameter: 18.9mm. Weight: 1.3g.

A small plain circular single loop frame copper-alloy buckle. The object is undecorated and circular in cross-section. There is no constriction for the pin, which has led to this object being classed as a buckle and not a brooch; it is entirely possible that it was alternatively used as a brooch although the frame and pin are undecorated which suggests it is more characteristic of a buckle. An incomplete cast copper alloy double loop rectangular or trapezoidal buckle of post medieval date (c. AD 1570-1700). The buckle is trapezoidal in plan with bevelled edges. There are square and rectangular mouldings all around the frame. The buckle has a narrowed central integral bar. The pin is missing. The object is in fair condition and has a brown patina, and there is evidence of a bitumen coating. There are similar examples illustrated in Whitehead (2003:p.81 no501). There are also parallels on the database discovered in East Devon (DEV-CCF0B5) and Cheshire East (LVPL-EAB9D6).
