Cast copper alloy Roman seal box lid, lozenge-shaped in plan with cross-hatching of twenty-five lozenge-shaped cells for enamel. Some light blue-green enamel survives in a few of the cells. The four corners of the lozenge shape have knops projecting from them which are now worn. These knops would have originally fitted into notches in the base half of the seal box. The sides of this lid survive, and are at right angles to the lid. This probably dates from the late 1st to mid 3rd century AD, see https://finds.org.uk/counties/findsrecordingguides/seal-boxes/ .
