A small sherd from a vessel, probably Roman dating to c AD 43-410. The sherd appears to be part of the body of the vessel. It comprises a small triangular shape with a shallow depression along the narrow edge which may be decoration. The fabric has an oxidised red core and the surfaces are a reduced whitish grey. There are abundant inclusions evident in particular on the inner surface. The inclusions are translucent grey, possibly sand.

A ceramic rim sherd with a handle from a post medieval vessel dating to c AD 1650-1800. The fragment comprises a section of the rim and body of a large mouthed vessel with a handle attached to the outer surface. The body of vessel has a steep profile which appears to shallow probably to form a wide open dish. The top of the body rises to a sharp lip which then slopes down before rising again to form the rim of the vessel. A sherd from the base of a wheel thrown Roman Samian type (possibly Central Gaulish ware) vessel dating to c AD 43-250. The sherd comprises part of the base of a vessel and appears to rise towards the centre of the base. Beneath the base of the vessel there is the remnant of a raised circular everted stand. The fabric is yellowish buff colour with brownish red glazed slip. There are numerous small sandy inclusions. The fragment weighs 25.76g and measures 72.01mm in length, 26.88mm in width, 20.23mm in height and the base is 7.28mm thick.

A fragment from the handle of a medieval shellyware vessel dating to c AD 1200-1300. The fragment comprises the lower end and attached body from a broad (c 60mm) strap handle possibly from a pitcher. The handle is stlightly concave is decorated with three vertical lines of rouletted decoration running up the concavity. The handle was attached almost vertically to the side of the vessel and the body of the vessel turns sharply inwards just past the base of the handle. A sherd from a Roman greyware vessel, dating to the period AD 43-410. The sherd comprises a central unoxidised grey core with oxidised red layers on either side and an unoxidised grey layer on the inner and outer surfaces. The central grey core varies in thickness and fades away at the top of the sherd. The fabric contains numerous flint inclusions, with fewer inclusions on the inner surface. There is evidence of occasional organic inclusions.
The sherd weighs 38.83g and measures 65.7mm in length, 62.21mm in width and 5.87 in thickness.

A Roman ceramic base sherd, the foot of a central gaulish (lezoux) samian ware bowl, probably dating to c. AD 120-200. A very fine grained pinkish-orange slightly micaeous fabric with frequent small white inclusions and glossy red-brown slip. No decoration survives on the sherd. The bowl had a flat base with a projecting, obliquely angled foot. Weight 29.14g.
