A black burnished ware (BB1) rim sherd from a Roman vessel dating to c AD 43-410. The sherd comprises a small section of rim and wall of a vessel. The outer face of the wall is convex with a narrow rib of rim at the top. The fabric is black on the outer face and muddy brown on the inner face. There are large holes which probably contained organic material. There are numerous small and medium inclusions of grog and flint. The fragment weighs 5.75g and measures 25.69mm in length, 23.3mm in width and 8.56mm in thickness.

A fragment of the top of a Roman black burnished ware flanged bowl dating to c AD 275-325. The fragment comprises a slightly concave piece of a vessel. On the outside (the convex side), there is the raised rib of a shallow flange which then continues up towards rim, which is missing. The fabric is dark grey with a slightly oxidised red internal face and a black outer face. There are small white inclusions that are probably sand.

Two sherds of greyware dating to the Roman period c AD 43-410.  One sherd is a rim and one is a bodysherd.  The bodysherd may be of a Savernake ware type.   It is thin and of a pinkish buff colour with numerous inclusions of red iron oxide and medium sized sandy or black quartz inclusions.  There are numerous voids.  This sherd hard fired and is rough textured. A base sherd from a vessel dating to the Roman period c AD 43-410.  The sherd is a coarse greyware.  It is hard fired and has an unoxidised core.  The fabric of the outer surfaces is a pale orangey pink with sparse medium sized sandy inclusions, crushed flint inclusions and iron oxide inclusions.  There are also a few voids in the fabric.  It is handmade.

A post medieval (AD 1540-1900) ceramic cone-shaped stoneware object which looks similar in shape to tegula mammata from a Roman cavity wall. It has been suggested that this may be the stopper for an acid bottle. The object has some slight damage to the sides of the base. It is generally conical in shape but towards the tip the profile is slightly flatter and it terminates in a blunt point. It is beige stone in colour with a brown glaze. A section of lead with the remnants of an iron nail which appears to be Roman through it dating to c AD 43-410 (but may be later). The object comprises a sub-rectangular piece of lead. At one end, the lead has a flat vertical face and curved corners. The other end appears to have been broken off or cut as the horizontal line is not even and the vertical end face is sloping in on the back. Two cubes of stone which may be pieces of tessera type tile, possibly dating to the Roman period c AD 43-410. Both objects a crudely made cubes of stone. The patina of both is browny/yellowish cream. 1 - Weighs 26.15g and measures 26.17mm in length, 25mm in width and 22.04mm in thickness. 2 - Weighs 17.75g and measures 24.79mm in length, 24.4mm in width and 17.91mm in thickness.

A post medieval copper alloy strap fitting probably for a sword belt dating to c AD 1500-1620. The strap fitting is in two parts which are from the same find spot. Although the short hook stud end is smaller in scale, it fits snuggly into the eye end of the strap fitting and both pieces are bent in a similar way. They are therefore being recorded together but will be described separately. The strap fitting is complete and comprises a plate of copper alloy with a lis shape at the top and below that swells into a pear-shaped section with a small knop at the base.
