Probably a medieval or post-medieval lead weight dating to the period c AD 1200-1700. The weight is a misshapen lozenge with the top point extending upwads to form a rounded end which is pierced with a hole. The weight is convex on both sides and may have been moulded in two halves and fixed together as there is possible evidence of a seam along the side. A cast lead weight possibly dating to the medieval to post medieval periods (c AD 1100-1700). The weight is roughly circular in plan and is pierced with a hole through the centre. The weight is decorated with a wheel shape pattern comprising a groove around the outer edge which surrounds a raised circle with eight 'spokes' which meet in the centre by a hole. The reverse of the weight is undecorated. The patina is light whitish brown. The weight has a diameter of 40.63mm, is 8.73mm thick and weight 87.99g.

The weight is decorated with a raised rim. On the top of the weight is a raised saltire which continues in raised ridges down the sides of the weight. A circular lead weight possibly dating to the medieval period. The underside is smooth apart from a rough, circular indentation measuring about 10mm in diameter. On the upper surface, there is a raised cross surrounded by a raised circle just inside the rim. The lead weight is 30.45mm in diameter and 7.83mm thick, it weighs 52.45g.

A copper-alloy lug for attaching a handle to a metal vessel. The loop at the top of the lug is a tear-drop shape in plan. The loop has a circular hole and is D-shaped in section. Short arms project from either side of the stem beneath the loop. The stem is oval in section and is broken. Perforated lugs of this form served to attach handles to vessels such as chafing dishes (for examples, see Lewis 1973: 61). The suggested date is 15th to 16th century.

A copper alloy medieval to post medieval handle lug from a chafing dish dating to the period AD c1400-c1600. The integral rivet secured the loop at a right angle to the body of the vessel with a drop handle through the transverse loop. Only a short section of the drop handle remains where it fitted through the loop and it has evidence of wear as it pivoted in the loop. A copper alloy zoomorphic terminal from a drop handle, of medieval date (c AD 1250-1500). The object is cylindrical, oval in cross-section, and in the shape of an animal head, perhaps a barking dog. There is a groove on either side of the neck, and a slight ridge around the neck which frames the head. A medieval pottery rim sherd of Laverstock type ware dating to c 1200-1350.  The sherd  formed part of the rim of a large jar.  The rim measures 32.54mm across.  It has been pale fired and oxidised and the inner fabric is a slightly pinky orange colour with the outer fabric a buff white with a pale olive green glaze on the inner surface and on the rim.  The glaze is covered in tiny reddish brown spots.   There are a few reddish brown and sandy inclusions.

A medieval pottery sherd of Laverstock type fineware dating to c 1200-1350.  The sherd has been pale fired and oxidised and is a buff, pinky orange with a khaki-green glaze on one side and some fragmentary evidence of a similar colour glaze on the other side.  The glaze is uneven and the striations of combing are evident.  There are a few sandy inclusions and evidence of organic inclusions.

A ceramic body sherd from a crudely made medieval vessel dating to c. AD 1075-1250. Kennet Valley ware. The sherd has a grey fabric with iron rich inclusions as well as flint and organic material.  One surface has an applied red slip and the other may have evidence of cooking residue. Dimensions: length: 42.8mm; width: 33.9mm; thickness: 6.4mm; weight: 11.87g. Found a number of years ago by the finder. Thanks very much to Lorraine Mepham and Rachael Seager-Smith for assistance with identifying this sherd and dating it to the late 11th and 13th centuries.
