A medieval voided long cross, silver cut halfpenny of Henry III dating to AD 1248-1250. The coin is damaged and the remaining fragment is approximately one third of a complete penny. Moneyer Nicole. The king's head has two curls with pellets in the centre and a circular eye with a central pellet. There is no sceptre. There is a single pellet between X and III. Initial mark crescent. Uncertain mint. Class IIIb or IIIc, N987 or 988 (North, JJ, 1980, English Hammered Coinage volume 1, Spink & Son, London p 182, nos 987 and 988).
