A small bodysherd of a Medieval vessel dating to c. AD 1100-1500.  The fabric is a hard fired, rough and sandy with abundant translucent grey/white sandy quartz inclusions.  The outer surface is a buff colour and smooth with a row of vertical rouletted lines (and possibly a second row just visible).  The inner surface is a darker buff colour with some patches of darker grey and is rough and gritty.  The core is a darker unoxidised grey. An Middle to Late Early Medieval copper alloy 'ansate' or 'equal arm' type brooch dating to c AD 700-1000.  Weetch (2014) type XIII 'Other or unknown type'. A sherd from a tile or possibly a vessel and probably of medieval/post medieval date (cAD1400-1800).  The sherd may be Verwood type pottery.  The fabric is fine with abundant small inclusions of sand, black quartz and red iron oxide.  The outer surface is oxidised to a pale pinky buff colour and the core is a reduced grey.  The pottery is hard fired.  There is evidence of abraded olive green glaze and the outer surface is decorated with two lines of three wavy combed lines which may be related to adhesion rather than decoration.    Dimensions: 5…

A knapped lithic implement of Neolithic to early Bronze Age date, circa 4000 - 2300 BC. The implement is a thumbnail scraper, designed to be held between the thumb and forefinger, formed from a secondary flake which is D-shaped in plan and triangular in section. The ventral surface is smooth with subtle ripples of percussion, although the striking platform has been damaged. The dorsal surface displays minimal retouch. The flint is a grey colour. A copper alloy with glass stone mount or pendant/brooch probably medieval dating to c AD 1100-1400.  The mount is oval with a band of chevron decoration around a slightly off centre cabochon glass stone set in a bezel with a raised rim, which is slightly damaged.  Surrounding the bezel are radiating double incised lines surrounded by an incised oval line with the chevron decoration around it.
