A Roman ceramic rim sherd of Oxfordshire red/brown colour coated ware, probably dating to c. AD 200-410. A fine grained micaeous fabric with pale orange oxideised surfaces and grey reduced core, containing occassional grog and ferrous inclusions. Traces of a brown slip survive both above and below the rim. The vessel had an everted rim with slightly beaded lip. Weight: 26.43g.

A Roman ceramic base sherd, the foot of a central gaulish (lezoux) samian ware bowl, probably dating to c. AD 120-200. A very fine grained pinkish-orange slightly micaeous fabric with frequent small white inclusions and glossy red-brown slip. No decoration survives on the sherd. The bowl had a flat base with a projecting, obliquely angled foot. Weight 29.14g.
