A complete post-Medieval copper alloy clock key dating to c. AD 1600-1700. The flat-sectioned bow comprises two loops: the larger, oval, loop is at the bottom, with a bifurcated, drop-shaped extension above, decorated with a wreath on either side. Both sides of the larger loop have been incised to create the impression of a pair of entwined possible serpents whose open mouths meet at the base. A double moulded collar marks the start of the oval-sectioned stem, which has a hollow tip. There is a simple bit with two parallel projections forking out from the stem.
