A fragment of copper alloy unidentified object probably dating to the medieval or post-medieval periods, AD c1350-c1700. The fragment comprises a short section which is sub-square in profile at both ends, with one end smaller than the other. Both ends have evidence that they are incomplete. At the larger profile end, there is a worn groove that slopes out to a wider section. This section curves round and has evidence of transverse cut lines, which may be decorative but their lack of geometry suggests they are wear marks. On the outer side of the curve just beyond the transverse cut li…

A copper alloy unidentified object probably dating to the period AD 410-1700. The object comprises a sub-circular disc which is pierced through the centre. The edges of the disc appear to be damaged. The piercing is encircled by two incised lines. Around the central circular lines, there are four circles evenly spaced with an incised circle around each and with the centres hollowed out. In the field surrounding the four circles, are randomly punched dots. The back has evidence of the central piercing and other punched dots, although these do not seem to align with the four outer cirle…

A copper alloy unidentified object of possible medieval date. The object appears to be incomplete and comprises a sharp spike 18.28mm long which broadens out into flanges 20.86mm wide. Above the flanges, the spike continues for 25.15mm and broadens to 17.73mm. The back of the object is similarly configured except that at the top 13.46mm from the flanges it curves forward into a lip and then back into a curve up to the front. It appears that the top of the front of the pin is incomplete and it may have extended into the section that curved round to retain the pin over a bar or it exten…

A copper alloy unidentified object of uncertain date. The object comprises a fragment of copper alloy which is slightly curved. The object has a rivet through it attaching a front plate of copper alloy to a second smaller plate of copper alloy. The front of the object appears to be decorated with incised lines running diagonally across it. The back of the object is undecorated but there is a line running across the back of the front plate where the second plate fitted on to it. The object has a mid green patina and two edges of the object are ragged while the other two are straight an…
