A copper alloy unidentified object probably dating to the period AD 410-1700. The object comprises a sub-circular disc which is pierced through the centre. The edges of the disc appear to be damaged. The piercing is encircled by two incised lines. Around the central circular lines, there are four circles evenly spaced with an incised circle around each and with the centres hollowed out. In the field surrounding the four circles, are randomly punched dots. The back has evidence of the central piercing and other punched dots, although these do not seem to align with the four outer cirle…

A copper alloy unidentified object of possible medieval date. The object appears to be incomplete and comprises a sharp spike 18.28mm long which broadens out into flanges 20.86mm wide. Above the flanges, the spike continues for 25.15mm and broadens to 17.73mm. The back of the object is similarly configured except that at the top 13.46mm from the flanges it curves forward into a lip and then back into a curve up to the front. It appears that the top of the front of the pin is incomplete and it may have extended into the section that curved round to retain the pin over a bar or it exten…

At one end there is a blunt pointed section measuring 7.26mm which originally had a loop (now missing) to attach it to the beam of the steelyard. The pointed section then expands into a long oval shape which is hooked and terminates in a knop which is oval shaped with a small section which appears to have been worn away on the inside edge. A post medieval (AD 1540-1900) ceramic cone-shaped stoneware object which looks similar in shape to tegula mammata from a Roman cavity wall. It has been suggested that this may be the stopper for an acid bottle. The object has some slight damage to the sides of the base. It is generally conical in shape but towards the tip the profile is slightly flatter and it terminates in a blunt point. It is beige stone in colour with a brown glaze. The glaze is uneven, it is not clear whether this is from wear or the effects of the soil where it was found. One half of the object has a darke…

An incomplete copper alloy unidentified object consisting of hook of uncertain date. The hook comprises a circular strand of copper alloy which has been curved at one end to form a deep hook with a flattened section next to the point, which curves out slightly. At the other end the hook has been flattened and splays outwards as well as curving convexly away from the hook. The end of the flattened section is incomplete and there is an uneven break which appears to be at the point of a perforation through the hook.

A fragment of copper alloy unidentified object probably dating to the medieval or post-medieval periods, AD c1350-c1700. The fragment comprises a short section which is sub-square in profile at both ends, with one end smaller than the other. Both ends have evidence that they are incomplete. At the larger profile end, there is a worn groove that slopes out to a wider section. This section curves round and has evidence of transverse cut lines, which may be decorative but their lack of geometry suggests they are wear marks. On the outer side of the curve just beyond the transverse cut li…

A copper alloy unidentified object of uncertain date but probably post medieval dating to c AD 1540-1900. The object is incomplete. The object may be a clothing or belt hook in the shape of a zoomorphic fish possibly in Oseberg style. The object has a curvilinear outline. At one end, there is a bifurcated tail with one half of the tail curving round with a hole in the centre, this hole was probably an attachment loop.
