A copper alloy incomplete unidentified object of uncertain date. The ring is circular with a smooth slightly convex interior wall. The outer surface is angled at both sides to create a transverse ridge around the ring which ends just before the opening. The ridge then flattens towards the opening. The ring is incomplete and both ends are broken. It appears that it may have had a mechanism to open it or it had only a narrow strip of copper alloy completing the circle at the broken ends. The ring weighs 4g and measures 17.64mm in length, 13.43mm in width, 2.8mm in height and 3.94mm in t…

An unidentified copper alloy object, possibly medieval or post medieval dating to c AD 1400-1800. The object is incomplete. The object comprises a long sub triangular point which is uneven along the long edge suggesting that it is incomplete. Along the other long edge, the object turns at right angles and there is an irregular half moon shape which narrows towards the point. On the outside of the half moon shape is a rough raised rib. It may be that the object is part of another object and has been reused as a nail or cleat. The patina is mid green with small patches of light …

An unidentified copper alloy object, possibly part of harness trappings and possibly medieval or post medieval dating to c AD 1400-1800. The object is sturdy and weighty and appears to be part of a swivel mechanism or perhaps a brake for a pulley. The object is sub-trapezoidal in plan. The upper edge has curved shoulders and a slightly concave depression in the upper side where it appears that part of the object is missing. The lower edge also has a concave edge and in the centre of the base is the sub-circular stub of a knop which is incomplete. There is a circular perforation t…

A copper alloy unidentified object of uncertain date but probably post medieval dating to c AD 1540-1900. The object is incomplete. It appears that it originally comprised three legs with slightly raised projections which may have been part of the decoration. The legs are incomplete. The three legs meet at the top with a rounded knop. Between the three legs are the remnants of three hooks (only one is still attached, another has broken off and was found with the object and a third which is missing). Above the legs and the hooks but still below the knop are four flat strips of copper a…
