A post medieval copper alloy probable sword belt fitting for suspending a sword scabbard from a baldrick or possibly a dress fastener dating to c AD 1600-1700. The fitting is in two parts, one part comprises a hooked mount and the other the pendent suspension loop. The hooked mount comprises a sub circular plate with a raised square plaited design. The edges of the mount are shaped into angles around the decoration with four 'corners' around the square and flat sections at the cardinal points. In the centre is a rivet hole.
