A post medieval copper alloy seal top spoon fragment dating to c AD 1550-1650. The spoon is incomplete and all that remains is part of the handle and its terminal. The terminal comprises of a flat disc, on a plane perpendicular to the length of the handle, surmounting a sub-spherical moulding with a transverse moulded collar below, forming a debased balluster. There are no initials engraved into the seal. The handle is truncated by an old break and is oval in cross section. Traces of a white metal coating remain. The spoon fragment weighs 6.96g and measures 50.33mm in length, 12.56…

A fragment of a copper alloy Roman spoon dating to c AD 100-150. The spoon fragment comprises a short section of the handle, the offset section where it joins to the bowl and a fragment of the bowl. The handle is oval in cross section and at the bowl end of the handle, it flattens and curves sharply downwards and continues towards the bowl which it joins just under the back edge. A copper alloy object that is probably a small medieval spoon dating to c AD 1066-1539. The object is crudely made from a single, flat sheet of copper alloy. The sheet was originally sub-rectangular with a curve at the end of the bowl and at the other end, is rectangular with the corners at the top cut at an angle. Beneath the end, the copper alloy sheet has been cut horizontally to allow the sides to be curled towards the centre to create the handle. An incomplete copper alloy Roman mandolin shaped spoon dating to the period AD 200-400. All that remains is a section of the bowl of the spoon and part of the handle which attaches to the spoon. A copper alloy (probably) Roman cignus spoon dating to AD c 300-400. The bowl of the spoon is sub oval in plan. In the bowl of the spoon is a long line with a shorter cross line at the handle end of the bowl. The handle is a typical of this type of spoon as it loops over until it almost touches the neck of the bowl and then sweeps back again. The end of the 'swan's neck' handle ends in a slightly wider 'head' with six horizontal lines and two small vertical lines.
