A copper alloy jetton of Edward I dating to the period AD 1280-1350. Obverse depicts a crowned bust facing in a double circle which is surrounded by a border of strokes and rosettes and a raised rim. The reverse depicts three lions passant in a shield. There is a raised border round the shield and around this is a double tressure with four lobes. At each of the dips in the tressure is a lis. However, no direct parallels could be found as the legend on the jetton is fictitious and there are four lis and not three on the shield. On both sides, there is a short cross moline with pellets in each quarters and a border of pellets between two lines of small pellets (it may have been pierced through the centre). A copper alloy jetton of the Rechen meister type, late 16th century in date (c AD1550-1590). Obverse depicts a Rechenmeister seated facing, at his counting table with a decorative line of trefoils looping round the figure. The reverse depicts the alphabet (the letters J and U are missing) arranged in five lines within a double lined square and edged with a circle. Obverse inscription + LES GETOVERS DE LA depicting a shield bearing the lion rampant of Flanders within a beaded inner circle and edged with a beaded circle. Reverse type depicts a triple stranded straight cross fleuretty, with leafy ornaments within a double-stranded quatrefoil. Trefoils in each external angle of the foil. Similar to Mitchiner, 1988 nos 784-9 (especially 785).
