The copper alloy bezel from a Roman or early medieval Brancaster type finger ring dating to AD 350-450.  All that remains of the finger ring is the square bezel, although there is evidence on the reverse that the bezel was attached to a hoop.  The bezel is square with rounded corners.  It is decorated in intaglio with incised relief.  There are short incised transverse lines outlining the edge of the bezel (parts are missing where the object is worn or slightly damaged).  In the centre, is a depiction of a stylised bird, probably a peacock with long l…

A post medieval complete copper alloy finger ring dating to c.AD 1500 - 1700. The finger ring is circular with a D-shaped cross section. The exterior surface of the hoop is decorated with a foliate and rose design with a narrow, smooth flat rim.  There is a raised square knop at the front of the ring.  The interior of the hoop is undecorated.  The patina is brownish green and is corroded.  The finger ring is 26.03mm in diameter, 8.41mm wide, 3.47mm thick (4.99mm thick including the raised square knop) and weighs 10.19g. cf. A Post Medieval silver gilt finger ring dating from 1500 - 1700 AD. The band is rectangular in section and has a join just before the 'TO'. The outer face is decorated with beaded borders, each flanked by raised lines. The plain band in the centre is inscribed: " + DYE x TO x LIVE * " in seriffed capital letters. On the inside of the hoop is a maker's mark which is a recessed square containing letters in relief. These may be interpreted as an R back to back with a reversed R (‘ЯR’). The ring weighs 4.28g. A copper-alloy coiled finger ring of uncertain date. The finger ring has probably been made by re-using a section of bracelet. The finger ring is circular in plan and is formed of a long strip copper alloy which is sub-rectangular or oval in cross section. The strip has been coiled around twice to form the ring. The ring weighs 6.93g and measures 19.5mm in diameter, 10.31mm in height and 2.71mm in thickness.

A copper-alloy Roman finger ring dating to the period AD 200-410 of Henig type IX. The ring is complete but has a break through the band. The hoop is polygonal in plan with eight external facets (octagonal). In section, the hoop is rectangular. Henig (1974, 50) suggests that polygonal rings are a third century type while Crummy (1983, p49, no 1788) notes that polygonal hoops tend to be fourth century in date. The ring weighs 2.44g and measures 20.66mm in diameter, 5.66mm in width and 1.02mm in thickness.

A copper alloy Roman finger ring dating to AD 43-410. The ring appears to be well worn and there is a break in the band. The ring comprises a narrow band measuring 1.46mm in cross section. At the front of the ring, the band flares out to create slightly wider shoulders which then narrow to a central oval bezel measuring 3.19mm x 6.37mm. A copper alloy medieval finger ring dating to AD c1400-1500. The ring has an oval bezel with the letter W and probably a palm frond above. The bezel is an incised oval with a horizontal letter W (written as two overlapping Vs) with a vertical line above and the possible palm frond vertically above that. Possibly, a copper alloy intaglio bezel for a Roman finger ring dating to AD 43-410 or the bezel for an intaglio in the centre of a Roman plate brooch dating to AD 100-300. The beze; is oval with narrow raised rims round the edge of each side. The rim of one side is deeper than on the other side. Presumbly, there was originally an intaglio in the depression framed by the deeper rim and the whole frame attached by the back to a finger ring or brooch. The patina is mid green and the bezel was silvered.

The ring comprises a single strip of copper alloy which tapers towards one end. The tapered end is the inside end of the ring which then spirals round and overlaps. The terminal of the overlap is rough and it has clearly been broken.

A silver gilt late medieval to early post-medieval 'iconographic' finger ring. The band is complete with a bi-faceted bezel. The band is largely D-shaped in cross section measuring 1.58mm in depth and 4.26mm in width at its narrowest point. The bezel is triangular in cross-section, creating two facets which are decorated with engraved, hatched triangles. An incomplete gilded copper-alloy Roman finger ring missing a section of its circumference. The band broadens to shoulders which surround the empty bezel. There is a small amount of gilding remaining in the bezel and on the interior of the ring. No gilding remains on the outside of the shoulders and band. The bezel is 10.91mm wide and 1.72mm thick and has an oval recess. The band is D-shaped in cross-section and narrows from the bezel to 3.31mm wide and 1.22mm thick at the break. Overall the ring fragment is 21.75mm long and weighs 2.73g.

A copper alloy Roman finger ring of Henig ring type II missing its intaglio. It is incomplete as it is missing a section of the hoop. In plan, the finger ring appears originally to have been circular. In section, the hoop is D-shaped, its narrowest point being at the back, from where it gradually expands in both directions. The hoop extends smoothly into the shoulders which in turn extend round the bezel. The bezel has an empty, circular recess 6.66mm in diameter. The ring is 15.56mm wide, 3.53mm thick and weighs 2.29g.
