A post medieval copper alloy buckle dating to the period c AD 1550-1650. The buckle is worn and there is evidence of corrosion along the pin bar. It comprises a double loop oval shape with moulded floral decoration on the loops and lobed knops at either end of the integral strap bar. The flower decoration comprises a central raised pellet with five pellets around, these may originally have been raised too but have been largely worn away. The buckle plate is complete and comprises a sheet of copper alloy which has been folded in half and has had a hole and sections at either side cut to fit the offset strap bar. There are three copper alloy rivets through the plate and on the top surface, these have decorative square studs. The top surface of the plate has an incised line around the edge and in the centre has foliate curvilinear decoration. A copper alloy medieval to post-medieval buckle. The buckle is incomplete as there are breaks at the ends of the sections. At the top is is a circular loop. Beneath the loop and at right angles to it, a section extends horizontally - it appears that there was a similar extension to the other side but this is missing. The horizontal section then turns downwards at right angles and forms a slightly wider and flatter section, which is broken at the end. Directly beneath the loop, a circular section spike continues downwards, this is broken at the end.

Possibly a Roman buckle pin probably dating to the period AD43-410. The top of the pin is curled over to create a loop. The shaft of the pin narrows to a point at the end (it appears to have been bent towards one side). There is saltire design on the loop (two joined saltires) with linear decoration following the curl of the loop and at the top of the shaft (three joined saltires) with two lines following the shape of the sides of the shaft.

A copper alloy medieval single loop D-shaped buckle dating to c AD 1250-1400. The buckle is complete. It comprises a D shaped frame which broadens as it reaches the centre where there is small triangular depression to fit the pin. The D shape changes direction just before the bar which is integral to the frame. The pin is a single piece of copper alloy which is curled round the bar and then narrows towards the top edge of the frame. The patina is a brownish green with small patches of lighter green. A post medieval copper alloy double loop buckle dating to c AD 1550-1650. The buckle is incomplete as it was originally a spectacle buckle but is now missing one loop. The remaining fragment could still have worked as a buckle. The buckle comprises an oval loop with moulded possibly floral decoration at the centre top which acts as the rest for the pin. The decoration comprises a scroll on either side and central 'stalk' with curving sides which is topped with some small raised lines and which ends in a blunt point. A cast copper-alloy double loop oval spectacle buckle dating to the period c 1350-1650. The pin is missing. The front of the buckle is undecorated with obliquely angled edges along the outside of the fram and on the inside edges of the loops. The strap bar is narrowed and broadly trapezoidal in section. The reverse is flat. The surfaces of the buckle are slightly worn with green patina with evidence of corrosion. Cf Whitehead No 294.

The buckle comprises an oval frame with a notched lip to hold the pin and the frame curves up slightly next to the hole for the missing pin. The plate is bilobed and apart from the hole for the pin there is also a rivet hole in the lower lobe. This is a specialised type of spectacle buckle which was used to suspend a sword belt via a separate hooked fastener on the end of the strap. A copper alloy object which is possible the chape from a post medieval buckle dating to c AD 1660-1720. The object comprises a bar of copper alloy which is oval in cross section and which narrows gradually towards the outer edges. At the ends of the bar, there are two small knops which may have fitted into the buckle plate. In the centre of the bar is a raised rib which leads into a roughly triangular shaped pin. The back of the chape is undecorated. The patina of the chape is dark green and the surface is rough.

The frame of the buckle has bevelled outer edges and a narrowed strap bar which is slightly recessed from the frame. There is evidence of sprue along one of the sides of the loops.
