A copper alloy medieval buckle plate dating to the period AD c1350-1450. The buckle plate comprises a single piece of copper alloy folded over the bar of the buckle (which remains together with a fragment of the side of the single loop D shaped buckle) and with a hole in the centre for the pin (which is missing). The plate has two rivet holes at the opposite end to the buckle. The plate is decorated with an engraved border framing a punched and engraved design which is probably a mythological beast. Possibly a Roman buckle pin probably dating to the period AD43-410. The top of the pin is curled over to create a loop. The shaft of the pin narrows to a point at the end (it appears to have been bent towards one side). There is saltire design on the loop (two joined saltires) with linear decoration following the curl of the loop and at the top of the shaft (three joined saltires) with two lines following the shape of the sides of the shaft.

A cast copper-alloy double loop oval spectacle buckle dating to the period c 1350-1650. The pin is missing. The front of the buckle is undecorated with obliquely angled edges along the outside of the frame and on the inside edges of the loops. The strap bar is narrowed and broadly trapezoidal in section. The reverse is flat. The surfaces of the buckle are slightly worn with green patina. Cf Whitehead No 294

A copper alloy buckle dating to cAD 300 - 400. The strap end is attached to the buckle but the pin is missing. The buckle comprises a single semi-circular loop which flattens on the side attached to the strap end. The loop is circular in section. The strap end comprises a single sheet of metal folded over the loop and with a slot in the centre for the pin. The strap end has two rivet holes at the end furthest from the loop, although the rivets are missing. An incomplete copper-alloy single loop folding strap clasp of medieval date. The frame is sub-rectangular with slightly curved sides. The frame narrows to form the strap bar which has raised terminals. There is no evidence of decoration. The patina is light green with evidence of corrosion. Cf Whitehead No 229.

A cast silver shoe or knee buckle. The frame of the buckle is rectangular and has rounded corners. On the front face, along the short sides the frame is bi facial and this continues around each corner into the long sides. The long sides are wider at the centre with a hole drilled into the inner side to accommodate a separate spindle.
