A cast silver shoe or knee buckle. The frame of the buckle is rectangular and has rounded corners. On the front face, along the short sides the frame is bi facial and this continues around each corner into the long sides. The long sides are wider at the centre with a hole drilled into the inner side to accommodate a separate spindle. The long sides are decorated with flowers or foliage finishing just before each corner. Attached to the spindle is a chape and pin.
