A post medieval copper alloy double loop buckle dating to c AD 1550-1650. The buckle is incomplete as it was originally a spectacle buckle but is now missing one loop. The remaining fragment could still have worked as a buckle. The buckle comprises an oval loop with moulded possibly floral decoration at the centre top which acts as the rest for the pin. The decoration comprises a scroll on either side and central 'stalk' with curving sides which is topped with some small raised lines and which ends in a blunt point. A copper alloy medieval or post medieval double loop oval buckle dating to the period AD c1350-1650. The buckle frame comprises two ovals which are bevelled on the inside and outside edges. The strap bar is narrowed and slightly recessed. There are notches extending across the frame on both sides for the pin. The wire pin is wrapped round the strap bar and tapers to a point.
