A Roman copper alloy hinge-headed enamelled brooch dating to c AD 43-200. The brooch is incomplete and is missing its pin and the foot of the brooch and catchplate. The wings of the brooch roll upwards and forwards. The bow of the brooch projects horizontally out from the wings for a short section before turning at right angles to create a flat lozengiform plate. At the bottom of the plate, there is the remnant of the foot which attached to the back of the plate. A Roman copper alloy Aucissa brooch dating to c AD 43-75. The brooch is complete. The wings of the brooch are heavily corroded but it is clear that they roll up and forward. The pin is hinged and narrows from the hinge mechanism towards the tip. The bow rises through a flat section with horizontal decoration into a large curve before bending towards the foot where is terminates in a short vertical section which continues to the rear of the brooch with the catchplate. A fragment of a Roman copper alloy Langton Down brooch dating to AD 25-60. The fragment comprises the wings and a short section of the bow. The wings comprise a sheet of copper alloy which has been curled around to form a tube. The wings are damaged but there is evidence of the central hole where the pin descended. In the centre of the front of the wings, a sheet of copper alloy forms the bow. It narrows slightly at the sides. A Roman copper alloy flat disc brooch with peripheral lugs dating to the period AD 100-200. The brooch is incomplete and is missing its pin (including the pin attachment) and the catchplate. The brooch is circular and comprises a central boss space which is missing any decoration, and which is surrounded by three raised rings of decoration. The outer two rings a filled with black enamel.
