An Iron Age copper alloy brooch of La Tene type I, dating to c. 400-200 BC. At the head of the brooch the bow narrows into a cord which is wrapped around a hollow tube of rolled copper alloy sheet, two coils survive on the left, with none on the right and with the pin lost to an old break. The bow is sub-oval in plan, and is is arced in profile, although its line is relatively flat; it is sub-rectangular in cross section. An Iron Age copper alloy brooch of La Tene type I, dating to c. 400-200 BC. The brooch is missing its pin, catch plate and the terminal of the foot; it is also bent and misshapen. The head of the brooch comprises of a spring of four coils, with one half being bent apart from the main group. Below the head the below the head the wire of the coils thickens into the bow of the brooch, which is sub-circular in section. A copper alloy Roman Aesica brooch dating to c AD 25-60. The brooch is missing part of the fantail and its pin. The brooch is complex. The wings are short and are semi-circular to cover the spring. Two parts extend down from the wings. First is a flat plate which is lozengiform, narrow at the top and then extending diagonal to terminate with a knop at each point and then narrowing again before finally broadening to create a triangular fantail, which is missing both its final points. An incomplete Iron Age copper alloy La Tene I brooch Type 1Cb dating to c 300-200 BC. The fragment comprises the pin and one half of the wound spring at the top. The remainder of the spring, pin and catchplate are missing. There are two coils of the spring which lead into the pin which is bent.
