A fragment of late early-medieval copper alloy bridle cheek-piece of Williams Type 2 dating to AD 1000-1100. It is incomplete and the breaks are worn. The cheekpiece comprises a long tapering projection which ends in a rounded knob. At the other end, the piece extends into an openwork design of two narrower projections around a decorated circular section. From the circular section, there are the remnants of two semi-circular holes, probably missing a third where it has broken off at its base.
