A post medieval silver groat of Elizabeth I dating to AD 1560-1561.  POSVI DEV ADIVTOREM MEV reverse depicting a square shield on a long cross fourchee dividing the legend.  The obverse is strangely stamped with the top of the head apparently starting at 10 o'clock to the initial mark.  Initial mark is cross and crosslet.   North (1991) p 133, no 1986.

A medieval silver sesino of Galeazzo and Bernabo Visconti, Lords of Milan (1354-1378), issue without marks dating after AD1355, mint: Milan (Lombardy, Italy). Ref: Day et al 2016: p.449, pl. 35 nos 614-17. Approximately a quarter of the outer rim of the coin is missing, broken along the lineof the inner circle.  obverse: B G VICECOM[ITES];  'Visconti snake' (biscia) eating 'Saracen'.  reverse: MEDIOLANVM depicting a cross.  The coin appears to have been pierced, once directly through the centre, with a second, smaller hole just below.

A dispersed hoard of five Post Medieval silver coins found at a depth of 4-6 inches. The hoard consists of two silver groats of Mary I, together with two silver sixpences and a silver shilling of Elizabeth I.  The coins were found in an area of cultivated land but it has transpired that the earth was from spoil that had been moved there from elsewhere (approximately 1.5km away) during building works for the extension of a car park at a commercial premises.
