A copper alloy Rose farthing of Charles I dating to AD 1636-1644. CAROLVS D G MAG BRIT obverse depicting a single arched crown with two sceptres in saltire through it. FRAN ET HI REX reverse depicting a rose surmounted by a crown. Uncertain initial mark. North 2291 (North, JJ, 1991, English Hammered Coinage Volume 2, Spink & Son, London p 165, no 2291).
