A dispersed hoard of five Post Medieval silver coins found at a depth of 4-6 inches. The hoard consists of two silver groats of Mary I, together with two silver sixpences and a silver shilling of Elizabeth I.  The coins were found in an area of cultivated land but it has transpired that the earth was from spoil that had been moved there from elsewhere (approximately 1.5km away) during building works for the extension of a car park at a commercial premises. The find spot given to the Coroner was where the coins were found with a metal detector. It has not been possible for the find…

A hoard of twenty five Medieval silver coins dating to AD 1280-1355. The coins were found within an area of approximately 10 inches, at a depth of approximately 8-12 inches. The finder reports that three of the coins, plus another two, were held together by the soil. A Post Medieval silver gilt finger ring dating from 1500 - 1700 AD. The band is rectangular in section and has a join just before the 'TO'. The outer face is decorated with beaded borders, each flanked by raised lines. The plain band in the centre is inscribed: " + DYE x TO x LIVE * " in seriffed capital letters. On the inside of the hoop is a maker's mark which is a recessed square containing letters in relief. These may be interpreted as an R back to back with a reversed R (‘ЯR’). The ring weighs 4.28g. It has been flattened and measures 28.05mm in length, 8.47mm in width, 12.1…
