A medieval silver sesino of Galeazzo and Bernabo Visconti, Lords of Milan (1354-1378), issue without marks dating after AD1355, mint: Milan (Lombardy, Italy). Ref: Day et al 2016: p.449, pl. 35 nos 614-17.
Approximately a quarter of the outer rim of the coin is missing, broken along the lineof the inner circle.
obverse: B G VICECOM[ITES]; 'Visconti snake' (biscia) eating 'Saracen'.
reverse: MEDIOLANVM depicting a cross.
The coin appears to have been pierced, once directly through the centre, with a second, smaller hole just below.
