A slightly clipped silver groat of the second reign of Edward IV dating to the period AD 1480-1483 (North 1631). Type XXI, London mint.
Initial mark is a rose. Crowned head surrounded by a nonagonal tressure with double lines. On the cusps of the tressure, three petals of a rose at the neck and trefoils on three cusps each side with nothing on the top two cusps above the crown. Saltire stops. Obverse legend EDWARD DI GRA REX ANGL Z FRANC. Reverse legend POSVI DEVM ADIVITORE MEVM (I have made God my helper).
