Obverse depicts a crowned bust within a tressure with trefoils on the inner points, including on the breast. CIVITAS LONDON reverse depicting a long cross with three pellets in each quarter, the outer circle of legend is missing. Series D Pre-Treaty. Initial mark is Cross 1. A clipped medieval silver halfgroat of Edward III dating to AD 1352-53 (Series D Pre-Treaty coinage). The outer ring of the reverse of the halfgroat has been heavily clipped and only a small part of the obverse legend remains. Obverse depicts a crowned bust facing surrounded by a nine loop double tressure and annulet stops in the legend.
