A silver sixpence of Elizabeth I probably dating to 1567. The coin has been heavily clipped. POSVI DEV ADIVTOREM MEV reverse depicting a square shield on long cross fourchee dividing the legend. Large bust with rose behind the head on the obverse. Uncertain initial mark. North 1997 (North, JJ, 1991, English Hammered Coinage Vol 2, Spink & Son, London p 134, no 1997).
