A slightly clipped silver groat of the second reign of Edward IV dating to the period AD 1480-1483 (North 1631). Type XXI, London mint. Initial mark is a rose. Crowned head surrounded by a nonagonal tressure with double lines. On the cusps of the tressure, three petals of a rose at the neck and trefoils on three cusps each side with nothing on the top two cusps above the crown. Saltire stops. Obverse legend EDWARD DI GRA REX ANGL Z FRANC. Reverse legend POSVI DEVM ADIVITORE MEVM (I have made God my helper).

A silver gilt late medieval to early post-medieval 'iconographic' finger ring. The band is complete with a bi-faceted bezel. The band is largely D-shaped in cross section measuring 1.58mm in depth and 4.26mm in width at its narrowest point. The bezel is triangular in cross-section, creating two facets which are decorated with engraved, hatched triangles. The shoulders of the hoop are engraved with a chevron above three perpendicular lines. The style of this finger ring relates to late medieval finger-rings which are often engraved with images of saints on bi- or tri-faceted bezels,…
