A Roman lead pot mend dating to the period c. AD 43-410. The pot mend comprises a roughly circular outer plate of lead and a smaller, irregularly shaped inner plate joined by a central lead plug which would have filled the hole in the vessel. The outer circular section has a piece missing and scratch marks next to it, possibly from modern damage. The plate has a flat central section which has an incised line close to a slightly raised rim. The inner plate has a rough surface. Between the two lead plates, there are traces of ceramic, probably Black Burnished ware.
