A medieval lead spindle whorl dating to c AD 1100-1500. The spindle whorl is biconical and truncated at each point. It appears to be well worn and is chipped around the central hole and has a large gash across one side. There is a central hole 11.64mm in diameter. The spindle whorl is decorated on one side with two concentric rings of raised pellets (c 11 in the outer ring and c 7 in the inner ring). The other side is decorated with 11 radiating raised ribs with a pellet between each pair. The spindle whorl weighs 41.09g and measures 29.02mm in diameter and is 12.72mm thick.

A post-medieval lead token dating to c AD 1575-1850 (Powell Type 2). The token is complete but is discoidal. The token is only decorated on one side with the initials PS (or possibly RS). The reverse is undecorated. The patina is light green with lighter beige marks around the raised relief of the decoration. The token weighs 8.89g and has a diameter of 20.43mm and a thickness of 3.36mm.. Lead tokens had a wide variety of potential uses such as use as tallies, gaming pieces, tickets, weights, etc. and are believed to have been locally produced; they are therefore difficult to date…

The token is only decorated on one side with a cross extending to the edges of the token and a chevron in each quarter pointing to the centre and a single line in the centre of each chevron which points towards the centre of the token. The reverse is undecorated. The patina is greyish-white with reddish-brown and lighter beige marks around the raised relief of the decoration. A medieval lead vesica shaped seal matrix dating to AD 1300-1400. The seal matrix is incomplete and all that remains is the bottom half of the seal matrix. The fragment depicts a central fleur de lis with a legend around the edge. The legend may read CI[]OISENIV. The reverse is undecorated and there is evidence of the raised rib down the centre which would have lead to the suspension loop.

A cast lead weight possibly dating to the medieval to post medieval periods (c AD 1100-1700). The weight is roughly circular in plan and is pierced with a hole through the centre. The weight is decorated with a wheel shape pattern comprising a groove around the outer edge which surrounds a raised circle with eight 'spokes' which meet in the centre by a hole. The reverse of the weight is undecorated. The patina is light whitish brown. The weight has a diameter of 40.63mm, is 8.73mm thick and weight 87.99g.

A lead papal bulla of Pope Alexander III dating to AD 1159-1181. On the obverse is written ALEX / ANDER / PP III (in three lines) surrounded by a circle of pellets. PP stands for pastor pastorum - 'shepherd of the shepherds'. The reverse depicts the heads of St Peter and St Paul facing each other, each in a vesica-shaped compartment defined by beading, cross pattee with long foot between the heads and SPA SPE above. A post medieval Post Office lead bag seal or an alnage seal dating from AD c 1600-1725. The seal is incomplete and comprises a single bent disc with a section extending out of it which would have created the loop or join to the second disc. The face of the seal depicts a bust of the monarch (possibly Anne) facing right with the legend OF ENG:LAND around it and a circle of pellets surrounding the design. The relief designs on these alnage seals are characterised by fine detail resulting from well engraved dies. The reverse is undecorated.

A post medieval Post Office lead bag seal from AD c 1660-1700. It measures 20.13mm in diameter and c.5.38mm in thickness, weighing 9.81g. There are perforations at opposite sides of the seal where it has been cramped onto a cord which passed throught the centre of the seal. The obverse depicts a crown above G POS above possibly a rose. The reverse is difficult to identify but may depict one or more shields. This seal would have been used to secure the contents of mail bags or sacks.

The main section comprises a sub-circular front panel with the stamp of a bird (possibly a phoenix) with wings outstretched and standing on its feet with the trifoliate tail between. A Roman lead pot mend dating to the period c. AD 43-410. The pot mend comprises a roughly circular outer plate of lead and a smaller, irregularly shaped inner plate joined by a central lead plug which would have filled the hole in the vessel. The outer circular section has a piece missing and scratch marks next to it, possibly from modern damage. The plate has a flat central section which has an incised line close to a slightly raised rim. The inner plate has a rough surface. Between the two lead plates, there are traces of ceramic, probably Black Burnished ware.

A cast lead cloth seal dating to the period AD1500-1950. The cloth seal comprises two discs of lead which may have been joined and folded over to create a single disc. There is a short tab extending from the disc and between the two discs are two iron wires which extend out of the tab. One side of the disc is smoother than the other. The seal is damaged and any markings on the seal are indecipherable. The cloth seal weighs 9.1g and measures 32.85mm in length, 19.80mm in width and 4.20mm in depth.

An incomplete late medieval lead pilgrim's ampulla (holy water flask) dating to the period AD 1350-1530. The ampulla is incomplete as the neck is missing. All that remains is the rounded body of the ampulla which has been flattened. The cast marks along the edges are visible. The flattening of the ampulla means that the decoration is not very clear but it appears to have scallop shell decoration (the symbol of pilgrimage) on one side and there appears to have been a decorative motif on the other side.
