A medieval lead Papal bulla of Pope Clement V, pope from AD 1305-14. CLE/MENS/:PPV obverse depicting the legend in three lines within a beaded border. PP stands for 'Pastor Pastorum' or 'Shepherd of Shepherds'. The reverse depicts the faces of Saints Peter and Paul in moulded bas relief, each surrounded by a separate pellet border with a crozier between the two. A lead papal bulla of Pope Alexander III dating to AD 1159-1181. On the obverse is written ALEX / ANDER / PP III (in three lines) surrounded by a circle of pellets. PP stands for pastor pastorum - 'shepherd of the shepherds'. The reverse depicts the heads of St Peter and St Paul facing each other, each in a vesica-shaped compartment defined by beading, cross pattee with long foot between the heads and SPA SPE above.
