A Roman lead steelyard weight dating to the period AD43-410. The weight is biconical and there are marks at each of the pointed ends of the iron bar passing through that probably formed a hanging loop at one end. In the middle of the widest part of the weight is a hole with a sub-square brown mark round it - which may have been an alternative hanging mechanism.
