There is evidence of a bulb of percussion and concoidal rings on the ventral surfaces of all the pieces. The patina of the cortex is yellowish cream cortex with black flecks. The inner core of 9 of the flakes is light khaki brown with inclusions of white and dark brown marks. The other three flakes have a darker greyish brown core. The heaviest piece weighs 17.51g and measures 34.33mm in length, 27.75mm in width a…

A flint scraper probably from the Paleolithic dating to c 450,000-420,000 BC. The flint has original cortex on the outer side and fresh cortex has developed on the inner surface. There are also small areas where the cortex may have been removed at a later date. There are also pits on the outer dorsal surface which may have been removed, although this may be the result of natural taphonomic processes. The inner ventral surface has evidence of a bulb of percussion with concoidal rings. There appears to be evidence of a flattened area and light retouch around the dorsal edge of the scrap…

A retouched flint blade dating to the period 4000-3501 BC. The impliment is lenticular in shape but is missing a point. The flint is covered with retouching. The implement exhibits sub-parallel, low angle retouch on both faces along with some scaled retouch along both mesal edges. On the ventral surface, the bulb of percussion is missing and some concoidal rings are just visible. The narrow end of the blade may have broken or it may have been worn into a straight, smooth curve from the ventral to distal surfaces. The flint is a light greyish beige colour and is translucent at one e…

A late Mesolithic flint bladelet dating to the period c. 7000 - 4001 BC. The bladelet is sub-rectangular in plan with a slight curve along the length of the blade and a diagonal flaw across both sides of the blade. The dorsal surface exhibits three negative flake removal scars with two smaller negative flake removal scars which terminate at the diagonal flaw. The ventral surface retains a small bulb of percussion, indicating manufacture by soft-hammer striking. The flint is mottled mid - light grey in colour. A flint possible side-and-end scraper of Neolithic to Early Bronze Age date (c. 4000 - 1600 BC). The scraper is struck off a tertiary flake and displays no remaining cortex, although there are off-white inclusions. The dorsal surface exhibits one negative flake scar at a right angle to the striking platform, indicating that the flake may have been struck off a multiple platform core. The scraper exhibits short scaled semi-abrupt retouch along the mesal and distal edges. The other mesel edge does not exhibit any retouch and appears to have been broken off. The scraper exhibits a large …
